Friday Five LV: What Was…

Christopher wrote this late at night:

What was…

1. …your first grade teacher’s name?
Mrs. Niswonger was my first grade teacher. Some interesting facts: Mrs. Niswonger is retiring this year, I think I subbed for Mrs. Niswonger on one occasion, I have to good fortune of going to the theater once a month (during the season) with Mrs. Niswonger (and others).

2. …your favorite Saturday morning cartoon?
I’m having trouble remembering which ones came on Saturday Morning. I need to do a little research… Ooooo! I loved the Littles!

3. …the name of your very first best friend?
Is this in back in first grade? Since the question is posed in the past tense, I will answer that way. I would say I had two best friends in the first grade. Josh Hoevelmann (of which I am still in contact with) and Scott Young. We were quite a team if I recall.

4. …your favorite breakfast cereal?
I don’t like breakfast cereal. If I am going to waste breakfast on cereal, I would rather not eat. However, my favorite is Rice Krispies. SNAP! CRACKLE! POP!

5. …your favorite thing to do after school?
I didn’t have many options. I would go to my mother’s classroom and begin the waiting process. Sometimes I would go around and harass the other teachers and be a general nuisance others, I would go outside and play on the playground.

I had to make a post today because today is my second blog birthday. WIT is two years old today. Let’s see… that makes me pretty old in blog years, doesn’t it?

    1. First grade teacher: I, too, had the honor of being in Mrs. Niswonger’s class. I just loved her. She’s retiring this year? I didn’t think she’d ever retire!
    2. Favorite Saturday morning cartoon: The Wuzzles or the Get-Along Gang
    3. First best friend: Nicki Schneider. We used to play Lavern & Shirley, the Avon Ladies. We have pictures. We were best friends when she was 3 and I was 4. Her mom was my babysitter.
    4. Favorite breakfast cereal: I don’t know if this refers to then or now. But my favorite now is Cinnamon Toast Crunch. My favorite then was…I don’t remember. My dad always ate Post Toasties with bananas, and that’s the only cereal I remember being in our house as a kid.
    5. After school: In kindergarten, I went over to Nicki’s house. Once I was in first grade, I had to ride the bus over to the middle school and wait for my mom. I generally did the same things as Christopher, except the first 20 minutes or so were required to be homework or reading time.

    Happy blog birthday!

Hey, I remember “The Littles”! Wow, I’d forgotten about them.

I agree with you on cereal too.

Oh, you and Michael made similar posts again… This time I left my answers at his blog

    Pressed Says:

The littles. I remember them too! Although I didn’t watch em much, I do remember them.
