Quixtar

Christopher wrote this in the late afternoon:

I was invited to start a new business. I was invited to join Quixtar.

Quixtar reminds me of the BlogExplosion referral system. You buy stuff off the Quixtar site and earn money back. Then you get other people to start buying stuff off Quixtar and you earn money from what they spend. You get those people to get other people to buy stuff and the you earn money from those purchases as well.

Kinda sounds like Amway? It is interesting to note that the company that owns Quixtar bought Amway. Color me not interested.

However, I decided to do some googling to learn more about Quixtar.

I guess my plan on starting my own business will have to be put on hold.

Just a little FYI for you.

Class dismissed!

Too bad. I’m fairly suspicious of MLM’s… I wonder how many people actually join this thing?

BTW, what about creating a site that links to good songs on iTunes (and thus earns you a referral fee)? You could call it WiTunes!?!?!?

No thank you! Sounds like a get scammed quick deal, and whats sad is that people buy into it knowing that they are most likely getting ripped off. :???:

I was involved with Amway in the 80’s and have only positive things to say…I now run a successful business and make 6 figures every year. This I owe to the teaching I recieved while in “the business” and the emphasis on being real and being honest in all your dealings. The only people I know that slam Amway still are the ones who didn’t get it the first time. Its not for everyone but for those who choose it is a “real” business.

The people who invited me are friends of mine and I wish them the best of luck.

I don’t think this post was a slam but rather my decision and some information that I found on the internet, both positive and negative points of view, I might add. :???:

Please be aware that if you want to alleviate your fears and doubts about legitamate I-commerce business like Quixtar then you should go to the Federal Trade Commissions website ftc.gov and read the consumer advisory PDF’s.

You will be intreaged by the fact that there has been a nationwide sweep of business opportunity scams by the FTC recently called Project BIZ OP FLOP. there were at least 200 Civil actions filed against illegal businesses operating in the U.S.
Imagine this… Quixtar was not on the list..
hmmm must be some legitamacy there.. Sometimes It’s hard for people to understand that business models change and for the better. Business conducted 100,50 or 10 years ago is not the same as today. If you want to be a succesful business then you need to adopt. I look at quixtars “Hybrid Business Model” and can see that they are combinding the strategies of Website Content, The ease of fulfiling orders and shipping for commerce portion of the model and at the same time combining rigid principles of franchising.. To me that is win, win, win to have all three. The three portions of ther I-commerce model are weak and cant stand on their own, but combined the weaknesses cancel each other out. I am supply chain consultant for a lot the fortune 100 compainies and I think I can spot a good opportunity when I see it..

Please sign my petition to stop Quixtar. This company has been taking advantage of people for many years now, especially those who have a high faith level. This “company” is not only deceptive, but it is very manipulative. The BWW system (Britt World Wide) which is affiliated with Quixtar can really only be described as a cult. How Quixtar and all it’s affiliations are still legal amazes and truely worries me. If you have any questions please feel free to discuss them with me. Thanks!

I’ve been involved for 10 years with the World Wide Group that uses Quixtar as a supplier. Prior to Quixtar being organized we used Amway as our supply company. I have seen nothing but positive come from my involment in the leadership training that I have voluntarily participated. I still have a career and make three times the income from that career because of what I have learned through the mentorship received. I have a nice income also from my Quixtar business as well. If any people have had a negative experience I would say that it is not the norm and frankly the people that have suggested a negative experience that I have personally talked with were for the most part just unwilling to follow some simple instructions and put some effort behind all of thier jaw jacking, as a result they din’t make any big money. Most were looking for a get rich quick and take advantage of people business and when they found that like any business it takes hard work and the ability to change and adapt an oh by the way some legitimate hard work trying and failing and trying again until success is achieved. Also most had no integrity, like for example the abilty to not bounce checks to thier upline and downline. You know what I mean business owners. Like paying your suppliers with checks that clear and supplying your customers what you promise. Sounds like normal business as it should be doesn’t it. Well these days maybe not
