Your Blog Should Be Blue

Your blog is a peaceful, calming force in the blogosphere.
You tend to avoid conflict - you’re more likely to share than rant.
From your social causes to cute pet photos, your life is a (mostly) open book.

Energry Reserves Running Low

Tuesday, September 27th, 2005

I made it my goal this week to be away from school everyday this week before 7 pm. It has become a very tiring getting away from work at 8, 9, and 10 pm at night. It makes for a long day.

I was able to reach my goal on Monday but I failed tonight. Between a 3 hour meeting after school and getting sub plans together for tomorrow, I didn’t get away until 10. Maybe it wasn’t a good week to start my goal.

Every week I tell myself that the next week will get better and I will be able to settle in but each week is the same as the last.

So yeah, I am whining a little bit, thank you for the indulgence.

I will have a couple of reviews up for the new TV season, as soon as I get to actually watch them. Thank you TiVo!

Update: DANGNABIT! I forgot to program the Amazing Race. Poop. Maybe the TiVo recorded it by itself. Or maybe Pressed did. Or maybe I can find it and download it off the Internet via BitTorrent,

Where’s the Ledge?

Monday, September 26th, 2005

Look at my healthy teeth!Happy Johnny Appleseed Day. John Chapman was born on this day in 1774. (Read more about the significance of the day here.)

The teacher that I team teach with told me last week that the other third grade classes where going to be making applesauce and a few other activities and she asked me if I wanted to team up and do something. (We have learned in the past that if we team up we can do twice the amount of stuff in the same amount of time.) My response: “I’m a lemming, where’s the ledge?”

So today our classes were apple cooking freaks. Not only did we cook up not one, not two, but three crock pots of applesauce, one crock pot of apple butter, a great big pan of apple crisp and 70 mini apple turnovers. It was pretty fun and we used a ton of apples. Plus, the smell was pretty great and we got to eat when we were finished.

Hope you had such a tasty Johnny Appleseed Day!

With exception of my mistakes, it went off without any technical problems, which is rare.

This is in reference to a Mother’s Day PowerPoint presentation (oh remember those days) that I put together. This post doesn’t reside on this server so here is the complete text:

Mother’s Day
I hope that everyone had a good Mother’s Day! Mine was busy but good. I was in charge of putting together a PowerPoint for church with the senior adult mothers in the church. Finding music and scripture was tough but it all worked out. With the exception of my mistakes it went off without any technical problems, which is rare.

How was your Mother’s Day? Tell me when you comment on this lesson.

Mr. W, out!

My mother’s day was very good. We took mom to Du Kum Inn for lunch. Church was busy with all that was going on. I thought that everything went very well.

Well my Mom’s day was great considering I don’t have any kids, and my mom was all alone on Mother’s Day for the first time ever. A sarcastic “yey” for going to college so far away. Oh- Mom said she really enjoyed the Mother’s Day service at church. Hats off to you, Chris-py Cream.

Wednesday, September 21st, 2005

This morning, thousands of students and adults are meeting around flagpoles. They have one purpose. Prayer. The cool thing about prayer is that you can do it anywhere. It is like the perfect “Can you hear me now?” commercial. So today at WIT?!?!? we are going to have a See You at the Computer (SYATC). Feel free to leave a prayer in the comments.
