Another Rainy Muny

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

I got to go to the Muny again for the final show of the summer season. The show was Fiddler on the Roof, a show that I haven’t seen.

My major concern of the night was the heat. According to the weather it was going to be a scorcher. Normally, a night at the theater heat wouldn’t be a concern but since the Muny is an outdoor theater. As it turns out, heat should have been the least of my concerns.

When we arrived the sky off in the distance, the sky had an ominous look. I was hopeful. This, as long time readers know is not my first experience going to the Muny and having to deal with rain in varying amounts. From sprinkle to epic deluge, I have experienced it all at the Muny. Each time I was hopeful.

Right around the time that the curtian was supposed to go up the drops began to fall. Most headed for shelter. Here we go again.

The rain would start and stop, off and on. The rain managed to hold off the beginning of the show for an hour.

When all was said and done, I left St. Louis around midnight. Let’s just say arrival in Rolla was quite late.
