4. I did dream last night. There was a snipper on a tall building shooting at people down on the ground where I was.

Did you have a pet as a child? If so, what kind and what was its name?

I had some Beta fish and some hermit crabs. I believe that one of the hermit crabs ate his (who I assumed at a young age) friend. Don’t remember their names.

If you had the chance to star in a commercial, what would you choose to advertise?

I have been in a commercial. I was one of those local cable jobs. It was a commercial for the local Chinese restaurant buffet. Fitting I suppose.  I would like to be in one of those new Apple commercials for the iPhone. Mainly because that would mean that I had an iPhone.

Dessert
What is your favorite kind of hard candy?

Right now, cough drops. Most other times. I enjoy peppermints and those cinnamon disks.  Occasionally I will indulge myself with a Werther’s Original.

How time flies when you aren’t blogging. Here is my latish feast.

What do you consider to be the ultimate snack food?
Little Debbie and Hostess make a wide variety of different snacking foods. It really is difficult to have just one favorite. I do really like those chocolate frosted donuts. Though there was a girl back in the day when I was in the youth group who called them black donuts and that name has stuck with me.

Soup
On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 as highest), about how popular is your last name?
This question is a bit unclear. Do they want to know popular in how many people have my last name or popular as in what people think of my last name. Without further information I really don’t feel I can properly answer this question so I will go with… 5?

Who is your all-time favorite sitcom character, and why?
Again, there are so many. Some characters that jump into my mind are Cosmo Kramer for Seinfed (of course), Frank Burns from M*A*S*H (the perfect foil), Archie Bunker from All in the Family (so honest), Mama from Mama’s Family (so put out), Chandler Bing and Phoebe Buffay from Friends (could there be anyone funnier?), Niles Crane from Fraiser (so prissy), Gob Bluth from Arrested Development, Mr. Bean from Mr. Bean (so child-like), David Brent from The Office (UK) (so clueless). But if I had to pick one to go with right now, it would have to be Dwight Schrute from the Office (USA) (so serious).

Not often but I do. I have bought things from New Egg, E-Bay, Old Navy, and some comic store to get the Buffy the Vampire Season 8 comics.

Rain with occasional thunder. Not like dangerous rain and thunder, kinda mellow rain and thunder.

What is your favorite kind of cheese?
Just about any kind of cheese that is melted. Not really a fan in the unmelted cheese at all. Mozzarella is one of the few cheeses that I will eat when it is not melted.

Salad
Do you sleep late on Saturday mornings? Why or why not?
If I can. Many times schedules don’t allow me to but on that rare (soon to become less rare) do nothing day that my schedule allows me to, I will. During the school year, Saturday is the only day that my body will allow me to sleep in like that.

Main Course
When was the last time you forgot something? What was it, and how long did it take to remember it?
Yesterday. I forgot a ballgame that some of my students asked me to go to. I didn’t remember until I was at a little technology staff get together and several people weren’t able to be there on time because they were at little league games. I will have to e-mail and try to go to a different game. I felt like a big heal once I realized what I had done.

Conferences are almost done! Checking in with this Friday Feast. First an old one: 131.

What sound, other than the normal ringing, would you like your telephone to make?
I really wanted to find the iPhone ring tone that Steve Jobs showed off during his keynote. I read a blog entry that described it as “angles peeing from heaven.” I did find for free and I am using it now as my ringtone. Unfortunately, I don’t remember where I found it.

Describe your usual disposition in meteorological terms (partly cloudy, sunny, stormy, etc.).
I would describe it as sunny most of the time. I mostly get in trouble for “having too much fun” or being too loud while laughing. I suppose there are worse things to get in trouble for.

What specific subject do you feel you know better than any other subjects?
This is a difficult question. I consider myself a Renisance man, you know good at many things. Therefore no one topic is jumping out at me. However, with as much as I have been looking at the Missouri third grade Math GLEs and answering questions about them to parents who think standards are too high, I am pretty well versed in that.

Imagine you were given the ability to remember everything you read for one entire day. Which books/magazines/newspapers would you choose to read?
I would read the Bible. That way whenever I forget my Bible and say, “Don’t worry, I have it memorized,” I wouldn’t be fibbing. I would also read transcripts of funny, highly quotable movies and Strongbad episodes, so I would never be without a quip whenever I need it.

If a popular candy maker contacted you to create their next confection, what would it be like and what would you name it?
It would be called The Mega-Yumalicious Super Fantastic Bar That has a Light Flavor of Coffee and Crunch with a Wafer. I think the name pretty much describes what is isn it.

I have always been a Tom Brokaw fan. I like the way he says things. Plus, I always have this sense that things are just a bit more under control if Tom is reporting on them. And I just like his voice.

If you were to have the opportunity to name a new town or city, what would you call it?
Salad seems to be the course I always get stuck on. It would be funny if I named a new city just City. Or we could go the Prince route and just choose to name it a symbol. In that case I would name it • or a star.

What will most likely be the next book you read?
Could be any number of books since today is the first day of Spring Break. The sky is the limit.

Friday Feast Leftovers… Whose hungry?

Appetizer
Where on your body do you have a scar, and what caused it?

I have a scar just above my right elbow. That was created when I accidentally put my arm though a pane of glass. I believe that happened just before my family left for family vacation. California? I also have one on my chin. That was biking accident that sent me flying over the handle bars. I have been told by doctors since then that whoever stitched up my chin did a pretty poor job.

What is something that has happened to you that you would consider a miracle?

Life. Salvation. So on a so forth.

Name a television personality who really gets on your nerves.

Right now the most annoying is Anna Nichole Smith. One of these celebrities who are famous for… well I can’t really give a reason that she is famous. Also in the same category of being famous for no reason would be Paris Hilton. These people are annoying. I would also include Tom Cruise at this point. Oh, and Oprah Winfrey who just might be the Antichrist.

What was a funny word you said as a child (such as “pasketti” for “spaghetti”)?

Instead of saying Six Flags as a child I would say Fix Fags. Many laughs have been shared over that.

Appetizer - Have you been sick yet this winter? If so, what did you come down with?

Yes. The beginning of this week. I have documented the short yet exhausting experience here on the blog. Reader’s Digest version: I think it was a nasty little virus that a student was kind enough to share with me when he vomited on me.

Soup - What colors dominate your closet?

Many greens (my favorite color), khakis, and denim. KISS. If I don’t I get confused and wear bad things. Well, that can happen even if I do keep it simple.

Salad - How would you describe your personal “comfort zone”?

Small groups of people I know. That would be the way I would describe my comfort zone. I open up quite a bit more in such situation. And I tell more funny stories that way.

Main Course - On which reality show would you really like to be a contestant?

Amazing Race by far. The only problem would be those pesky climbing and running challenges. Amazing Race is far more positive than most other reality shows. There is a social component in the show but it isn’t what makes or breaks your stay on the show. The show rewards people who are on top of their game. Most of the time.

Dessert - Which holiday would you consider to be your favorite?

I think it is time for two helping of desserts. I’m going to choose two. My favorite sacred holiday is Christmas. Even though secular meanings have become huge influences, it hasn’t been as overshadowed as Easter. I also just like the feeling of Christmas, I can’t explain it but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t influence me. Second, is my favorite secular holiday is Halloween. I like the events that surround Halloween and again it is that feeling thing.
